UNDERSTANDING THE POWER OF YOUR THOUGHTS

As a man thinks in his heart, so is he. Prov. 23:7
1.      Thoughts are the quiet discussions and imaginations that go on inside the mind. They could be decisions taken, issues from past experiences, mental pictures and images that are created in the mind. Matt. 15:19.
2.      Thoughts can be practical self-deceptions (and immorality). Eccl. 5:7, Judg. 16:20, Jas. 1:14-15, Matt. 5:27-28.
3.      Thoughts are building blocks of great accomplishments and good deeds. Php.4:8, 2:5-9, Jer. 9:11.
4.      We can control our thoughts by:
a.      Being born again. John 3:3, 5-6.
b.      Casting down every wrongful imagination. 1John 4:1, Heb. 4:12.
c.       Reading, studying and filling your heart with the word of God. Eph. 4:17-19, Col. 3:16.
d.      Filling your heart with spiritual songs and making melodies in your heart.
e.      Learning to meditate on wholesome things. Php. 4:8
f.        Remove and destroy all properties of the old man. This include porn sites, nude pictures, immodest dressing, wrong companions, carnal music and videos, and worldly TV programs.
g.      Break-up every friendship and association with friends of the old man; be ye separate.           2Cor. 6:14-18.
h.      Walk by the spirit. Gal. 5:16-17.
i.        Yield to discipleship training to learn the life of Jesus Christ. Matt 18:29.
j.        Set your mind on the things of God and His kingdom. Col. 3:1-2.
k.       Seek counsel from your pastor and elders in the faith whenever and wherever you are confused.
5.      God will judge every thoughts and imaginations. Jer. 17:9-10, Rom. 6:6-11.
